PropertyDescription : The Edelweiss Manotel is a traditionally structured Swiss chalet located between Lake Geneva and the international buildings of the UN. The hotel's 42 air conditioned guestrooms, over seven floors, have Swiss chalet style decor with wooden interiors, warm coloured carpets and fabrics, and wood furnishings. All offer satellite television, wireless Internet access, desks, minibars, safes and chairs. The hotel's restaurant serves traditional alpine Swiss cuisine within warm coloured decor with checked tablecloths and low level lighting. Typical dishes that are available include cheese and meat fondues, raciette and émincés, with chocolate fondue available for dessert. Live entertainment is also regularly put on for dining guests, including Swiss mountain yodelling. There is a public sitting area with sofas, coffee tables and a fireplace, where guests can enjoy coffee and tea, and DVDs can be rented from the front desk for private viewing in rooms. There is also a business corner of the hotel where high speed Internet access is available, and staff at the 24 hour front desk can assist guests with transport and entertainment bookings. The hotel is well placed for exploring Geneva and the surrounding area; the Brunswick Monument is just 500 metres from the hotel, and the Saint Pierre Cathedral is one kilometre away. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum is also one kilometre away, while further afield the lavish Château of Chilion is also worth a visit, 60 kilometres distant. Geneva International Airport is five kilometres (three miles) from the hotel. DrivingDirections : Geneva Airport railway station is 300 metres from the Departures and Arrivals floors; trains stop at Geneva Cornavin (city centre) and run every 20 minutes. Aero Ski Bus also provides services from Geneva Airport to many of the French ski stations. To get to the hotel, take the number One bus in the direction of Wilson. A taxi to the hotel will cost approximately 40 CHF. The best way to get around is by train. Driving directions from the airport: From the airport head in the direction of Lake Geneva. Once on Quai de Mont Blanc, turn right by the President Wilson Hotel, and take the second on the left into the Rue de Paquis.
